Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 19, 2026 · myocto.co
Octo ("we", "us", "our") is a personal productivity tool. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We keep it simple because we're not in the business of selling your data — we're in the business of helping you get things done.
What we collect
- Account data: Your email address and name when you sign up.
- Task data: Tasks, projects, notes, due dates, and subtasks you create.
- Habit data: Habit names and log dates you record.
- Preferences: Theme, news section selections, and UI config stored locally and in your account.
- Usage data: Basic server logs (request timestamps, errors). No analytics platform. No tracking pixels.
What we do not collect
- We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
- We do not run ads or share data with advertisers.
- We do not track you across other websites.
- We do not store payment information (we don't charge you anything).
How we use your data
- To provide the app — storing and syncing your tasks and preferences.
- To power the Claude AI assistant — your tasks and bio are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to that processing.
- To send password reset emails when requested.
Data storage
Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL database) hosted on AWS infrastructure in the United States. Task data and account information are protected by row-level security — only you can access your own data.
Inbox links
When you create an inbox share link and send it to someone, they can submit tasks to your inbox. The text they submit and their name are stored in your account. You can revoke any link at any time from your Inbox settings.
Your rights
- Access: All your data is visible in the app.
- Delete: Email us and we will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.
- Export: Contact us for a data export.
Children
Octo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will note the date of the last update at the top. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
